Sushant Singh Rajput, famous Bollywood actor, found dead at home in Mumbai. Police confirmed the 34 year old had committed suicide. No suicide letter was found at the sight.
This came as shocking news to not only his fans but also peers from the industry. Twitter, Instagram have been filled with memories of the actor and heartfelt condolences to the family. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too mourned his demise by tweeting ‘a bright young actor gone too soon’.
His team shared a message for his fans: “It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far. We request media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief.”
The Patna-born Rajput became an instant hit with his good looks and boyish charm when he was noticed in the famous soap on Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2009. He made his Bollywood debut in the buddy drama ‘Kai Po Che!’ in 2013, for which he also received a Filmfare nomination for Best Male Debut.
Since then he starred in many blockbuster hits such as Shuddh Desi Romance, MS Dhoni: The Untold Journey and Chhichhore,a movie sending a strong message against suicide. He was last seen in Netflix’s Drive.
His former manager, Disha Salin reportedly died by suicide last week. Rajput had tweeted his shock at the news on social media.
It is saddening to see such a young and aspiring actor gone this soon. It also is a reminder that even though celebs are an open book, they still suffer from personal issues as any other human.
