The trailer of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara released on Monday and made fans quite emotional. The trailer of the film which also stars Sanjana Sanghi has now become the most liked trailer on YouTube, overtaking Avengers: Infinity War.
Sushant’s ‘Dil Bechara’ overtakes ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ as most liked YouTube trailer.The trailer of ‘Dil Bechara’ has over 5.2 million likes in less than a day of its release, meanwhile Avengers: Infinity War has 3.6 million likes.
Based on John Green’s 2012 bestseller The Fault In Our Stars, Dil Bechara was slated to release in theaters on May 8, but it got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, the film is set to release on July 24 on Disney+Hotstar, joining the list of films to be released on the platform. However the film will be available to non-subscribers of Disney+Hotstar as well.
In the trailer, we see Sushant and Sanjana’s characters – Kizie and Manny – also do a spin on the “Okay?” “Okay.” iconic dialogue between the main characters in the book. In Dil Bechara, they have used the Tamil word for ‘okay’ – ‘seri’. In a scene in the trailer, Manny tells Kizie on the phone that seri means okay. To this, Kizie replies, “From today, seri is our word.”
Sushant and Sanjana’s film is directed by Mukesh Chhabra. It has music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. As Dil Bechara’s premiere was announced, director Mukesh Chhabra got emotional on social media, sharing how he never thought that he would have to release the film without his dear friend Sushant.
Sharing a poster from the film, he wrote, “Sushant was not just the hero of my debut film as a director but he was a dear friend who stood by me through thick and thin. We had been close right from Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara. He had promised me that he would be in my first film. So many plans were made together, so many dreams were dreamt together but never once did I ever imagine that I would be releasing this film without him.”
For sure,seeing Sushant on the screen for the last time will be heartbreaking and leave us all with bittersweet memories.
